When EFDT undertook an analysis of the motorsport sector in early 2005, a lack of highly skilled workers and a dedicated motorsport qualification was identified by the Motorsport Taskforce group as critical. 

To address this issue,  EFDT have formed an innovative partnership with the Manukau Institute of Technology who have developed the unique 'Racequal' motorsport qualification course which has commenced in February 2007. The course is specifically designed to address the skills shortage in the motorsport industry and appeal to enthusiasts who want to enter this exciting industry.
