Historic Racing Club Inc - Tasman Grand Prix Meeting  - 26/1/2009 - Pukekohe

Tasman Grand Prix Meeting

This is the first of 3 meetings for F5000 cars recreating the glory days of the Tasman Series.  This is a two day meeting.  There are several invited groups attending this meet.  There are F5000 cars coming from Australia, USA and England. 

Practice and some racing Saturday 26 January.  Racing starts 10.30am Sunday 27 January.  

Location:  Pukekohe Park Raceway, Manukau Road, Pukekohe.  To get to Pukekohe, follow the Southern Motorway to the top of the Bombay Hills.  Take the Pukekohe turnoff - turning right.  When you get to Pukekohe turn left at the roundabout - Manukau Road, continue straight ahead to the track. 

Cost:  Adults $25, children under 12 free.  Free car parking, free grandstand and free entry to the pits.

Your Waitangi weekend getaway is sorted for February 2009.  For this special weekend at GVR you can experience the following:

Steam trains operating the 12km trips, traction engine operating, vintage farm tractors and equipment in action, steam-powered threshing mill operating, Clydesdale horses working, vintage cars, steam boats operating on the lake, and vintage aircraft in action.

The Sunset Coast Big Band plays, food, stalls, children's activites and much much more !!

Details for the 2009 Festival are starting to be released.  It is confirmed the main entertainers for the Festival will be Dennis Marsh, and band Upfront that hale from Waihi.

                                
"Stars In Their Eyes" impersonators will include Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond and Tina Turner

Confirmed attractions for the kids - Mr Walnut the clown, & John Rew the puppeteer.
Belly Dancers  -  Dangerous Curves Ahead.

P76 Car Club AGM 2009

Preliminary notice that the annual general meeting of the P76 Car Club will be based in Pukekohe for the weekend 12, 13, 14 March 2009.

Itinerary:  Get-together / welcome on Friday night, a tour of the local area on Saturday followed by a formal meeting and a meal.

Franklin Sports and Cultural Festival  - 22/3/2009 - Pukekohe

Franklin Sports and Cultural Festival

In conjunction with Counties Manukau Sports and the Counties Manukau Ethnic Council, the 2009 Festival will once again be held at Bledisloe Park, Pukekohe.

Inter-school sports competition will begin at 9.30am - 12pm.  Kabbidi-Indian wrestling and Kilikitti were played in 2008, with the programme being similar for 2009.

Cultural entertainers are planned from 12.30 - 3pm, and a variety of foods will be for sale - Asian, European and Pacific flare.

The children's fun will be taken care of all day with bouncy castles, face paiting etc.
